Carpaterra's energy strategy is implemented through C-Energy Bohemia, a holding company of energy assets in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The Company's strategic vision lies in a combination of flexible, being traditional fossil fuels powered generation as well as renewable facilities like solar or wind. The principal asset of C-Energy is Plana Power Plant that combines fuel and gas fired 60MW in electricity installed capacity. The Plant is currently a super modern facility 100% operational either on coal or gas. The Plant technology includes coal and gas fired boilers, Siemens steam turbine, Rolls Royce gas fired engines and HRSG boilers. The Plant is one of the most advanced power plants in Europe, fully flexible in fuel while supplying hot water and steam in cogeneration, peak energy for a grid operator and auxiliary services to the national grid operator.

The real estate strategy, residential and office reflects an opportunistic vision of Carpaterra. We believe there is a great number of projects that are either undervalued or mismanaged by the market or current owners. We take an opportunity to identify such and benefit from our hands on management and real estate know how. CB City Park works on developments, searches for opportunities and manages the projects. We redesigned the Dlouha louka project, built its residential part - 160 modern apartments in - three stages.
Michal Susak – Managing Partner
Prior to founding Carpaterra, Michal was CEO and advisor of PPF Investments (PPFI) responsible for the management from January 2006 to September 2008. He and his team led all PPFI investments’ transactions in private equity and real estate, including core activities in CEE and Russia. From 1994 to 2006, Michal worked at Credit Suisse (Credit Suisse First Boston) in different positions, including in his later years as Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division, responsible for CEE and CIS markets. While at Credit Suisse, Michal led teams of bankers in a number of high profile transactions across CEE such as the privatizations, advisory and capital raising. Before joining Credit Suisse First Boston, Michal worked in various capacities for Citibank and Zivnostenska bank (Unicredit).
Michal has a Master’s Degree in International Finance from the Prague School of Economics.
Ivo Nejdl – Managing Partner
Prior to joining Carpaterra, Ivo was a Bucharest- and Prague-based director at PPF Investments responsible for private equity activities in Romania, where he built the firm’s local presence since 2006. He oversaw US$ 244m investments of PPFI into six projects, including two successful exits. Previously Ivo had been with Lehman Brothers, where he was involved in investment banking projects in the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and Hungary, and in Raiffeisen Bank Czech Republic as chief analyst.
Ivo holds a MBA Degree with a major in Finance and Private Equity from London Business School. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Economic Policy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Prague School of Economics.
